Reptilian Lace Socks...Take a trip to the wild side!
I was inspired to do these socks by some Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in an earthy colorway and some platinum beads from Earth Faire. They are knit on 2 circular needles from the top down.
For these lizardy socks, the beads are placed on plain knit rows and left to rest between stitches, a rather easy beading technique. Subtle ribbing between the lace motifs keeps them up nicely.

Reptilian Lace Socks
Fingering weight yarn, 400 yards
Sized for women’s medium foot. Leg measures 5.5” long from top cast on edge to ankle
36 stitches, 46 rows = 4 inches over stockinette stitch in the round
- US 1 (2.25 mm) circular needles – 2, or double pointed needles - set (or size to achieve correct gauge)
- Seed beads, size 8/0 – 360
- Dental floss threader or big eye beading needle
- Safety pin or split ring stitch marker
- Cable needle
- Tapestry needle
